Located at the heart of the Old Town of Nafplio, in Syntagma Square, the Archaeological Museum of Nafplion is housed in a preserved building that was used as an arsenal and gunpowder storage by the Venetians during their occupation. Today this impressive building is home to a number of findings from archaeological sites all over the Argolida area. Visit the museum and learn about the life in ancient Greece starting from the Neolithic era to Mycenaean, Classical, Hellenistic and Roman periods from all over Argolida. One of the most remarkable exhibits is the "Dendra Armor", a bronze armour that once belonged to a respected warrior.

The museum is housed in a preserved building in the centre of the Old Town in Nafplion owned by the family of Papantoniou and is home to more than 25,000 items ranging from clothes and traditional dresses to toys and dolls of centuries past. A devoted couple followed their passion and explored komboloia, worry-beads & rosaries across the worlds countries. After collecting specimens, and learning about their history, their use and the techniques to make them they opened the Komboloi Museum in Nafplio. On the ground floor you find the workshop where replicas of old komboloi are made as well as modern designs and the 1st floor is houses the gorgeous collection of items from Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim & Catholic cultures as well as Greece.
